Nobody Ever Tells Me Anything

Doc was a teacher from 1967 to 2010. (Sigh)

I am remembering something I did drama-wise, around 1970. I was teaching at the University of Wisconsin and was enjoying a freshman English class. Somehow I got it into my head that it would be fun for them to put on a play, and I chose Becket's WAITING FOR GODOT. I was out of my mind, but the students were enthusiastic, so we filled all the necessary parts for doing the play, all from our enthusiastic freshman innocents, I got a small theater on campus. And there we went. We rehearsed, used up way too much time, etc In the end we put on a production. I think I was crazy. I wonder today if those students look back to that experience fondly. I look back and think, "Why didn't someone stop me!"
