My laptop suddenly was beset by a variety of evils, all in the mode of security from bad things. I could not get them to delete when I discovered them last night. So among errands today I went up to Best Buy to use their Geek Squad. The agent there could see that there was a whole string of infections, all put into the tablet on the 28th. I have no idea how they got in. I seldom download anything, but in they got, and they proliferated themselves. I ended up leaving the tablet up there to be thoroughly cleaned out from viruses and the like. It costs, though. But I will be covered for cleaning, etc. for the next year.

Joan Rivers is on life support from some kind of disastrous procedure during outpatient throat surgery. She stopped breathing as the endoscopy was going on. Earlier in the day she was performing somewhere in New York. That is a bit spine chilling.

Our current cat, Snowflake, is much more talkative than Goldie or Fred. He very consciously speaks to us and tells us what to do. The other day a female character was introduced in a book I was reading, and we were informed that she had a white cat named Snowflake. That is funny, though there must be thousands of white cats with that name in various languages.

I am sleepy all the time these days, but that doesn't stop me from lying awake at six o'clock or so, listening to jet after jet passing overhead on the way to Sea-Tac. Oddly, It doesn't seem to bother me at all.

I did have a moment today at the athletic club, when I saw a number on the scale that pleased me. I know, I know, it will go away tomorrow and not come back for months, but it was nice to see it anyway.
