Nobody Ever Tells Me Anything

Doc was a teacher from 1967 to 2010. (Sigh)

I am trying to get the rhythms of the day back into normal modes, after the disruption caused by the death of RB. Actually, there have been several deaths in the lives of people I know, so there is a heaviness in the air. Barbara Walters retired as of yesterday. ABC had a special on her career yesterday, and it is impressive to see the list of people she interviewed. Worth noting, I think. We are watching the Mariners pretty regularly this year, including their game against the Twins as I type. I had to get emissions tests on both cars this month, so I grabbed that one and did them both, the Accord two weeks ago, the Sentra yesterday. Both cars get new plates, too, and I installed them. We are set through 2015. After some beautiful weather over a week's span, now the coolness is back. Rain was expected today, but it was cool and sunny. Very nice. Big fires going on in Southern California, too early in the year. I am reading Brown's Inferno. It is curious to read a book based on arcane knowledge and notice that he is talking to you as though you were totally ignorant. In this case, he assumes that his reader has no knowledge of Dante's Inferno. The feeling is though he is giving the third grade version of basic facts. But some of us have read the book, you know. I think he needs to rethink his relationship with his readers.
