Nobody Ever Tells Me Anything

Doc was a teacher from 1967 to 2010. (Sigh)

1431 - too eventful for reflection
echsdoc
This week has just been too full of events for there to be sober reflection, the type that I like to ponder for a few minutes for my LJ. The big event here was an attempt by a 26-year old man to kill as many people as possible at SPU. Thursday afternoon he started to kill over on Nickerson St. and successfully murdered a nineteen year old freshman student. He then went into the science building and wounded four more students, one critically. He was stopped when a student building monitor jumped him and sprayed him with pepper spray, then took him down and with the help of other students held him on the floor for the police. Pretty brave, we have to admit. Until this week my son worked for thirteen years at the PCC store about three blocks from the violence, so it brings anxiety home to us. This was also the 70th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion, to mention just one more event worth pondering.
