1556 - An achievement of deadness
Today is one of those weird days. I usually remember that 10-10 is the anniversary of Dad's death. It crossed my mind, and I thought 10-10-89, that's eleven years before the end of the century. Then I though, Add 14 to eleven, and la voila, you get 25 years. The old man has been gone a quarter of a century! It seems like it ought to be a day one would notice, a kind of achievement of deadness. But he has just been resting comfortably in Wisconsin. I think it is MY achievement. I have successfully kept on living, in a sort of way, for twenty-five years. I pat self on the back.
