1612 - Once in a blue moon
Look, see it from my point of view. For twenty-five years I ran the scoreboard at every Salt Mine home football game, starting in 1984. I was there on hot August days and freezing November days. Even when I didn't feel good. I did not get paid. All those years I dreamed of SMHS winning the State Championship. Now four years after I retire, it happens. It doesn't just happen. SMHS defeats our original neighbor foes, who had the longest winning street in the country, 67 games, and which won eleven of 13 championships, including two over SMHS in the last two years. But I lived long enough to see the dream come true. What could be finer? Nothing.
