Interesting words - Judith Viorst

The fading of youthful beauty is experienced as -- and is, in fact -- a loss. A loss of power. A loss of possibilities. Once we could harbor the fantasy that, from across a crowded room, a stranger would rush to our side and make us his own. But this fantasy belongs to Romeo's Juliet, not to Juliet's mother. We must let it go.
