A recommendation

I just finished reading Firewall by Henning Mankell, a Swedish writer. If you like police detective novels look him up. His series (now a tv series) centers on Kurt Wallender, a ranking detective down around Ystad and Malmo. The books have been coming out in English for some time, and this one is possibly the end of the series. It is also one of the best, absolutely compelling reading. Mankell has gradually become highly admired as new books are produced in the English speaking world, but his novels are not chronological. I recommend that you find the time chronology of his books, then start with the first and work through them. In this latest (and last?) in the series, Wallender is involved in a world-wide and frightening crime. I have read that the next book in the series has him retired and his daughter carrying on the baton.

If you are interested in this kind of fiction (roman policier), don't miss this series.
