My stats for this blog showed that yesterday I had 570 visitors check in, which is, I think, pretty much my high. I have no idea who reads echsdoc, but I have some regular visitors. I would guess that my thoughts on the death of Dave Niehaus might have generated the figure from yesterday. On facebook I have privacy control, should I want to use it, and it really is open just to people who are my friends. LiveJournal, though, is open to anyone who wants to drop in. This includes people I don't know, such as the Russian reader who said thanks a few days ago. It is important to choose topics in the context of the open readership. If I ever want to lay out my feelings on anything, I am more likely to do it here than on facebook, which is more personal and therefore less good for telling the "truth" to the world.
